About

I’ve created this blog to express my opinions about the many forms that heritage interpretation takes at sites of natural and cultural interest. Over time I hope this blog will develop to become a resource that will assist other interpreters by including examples of good and bad practice in the field. Of course it is very much a personal view and I’m sure that it might well provoke others to share their opinions too. As Freeman Tilden said, “Interpretation is an art” and art itself can be an extremely subjective issue.

I don’t intend to write the last word on every example that I include, but I want to capture the main issues and qualities.
